Aston Martin has released its first official images of the Cygnet — a new luxury commuter concept car. It may make its first public appearance in March 2010 at the Geneva motor show.

As the pictures reveal, this puppy will be embellished with a sporty grille, bespoke alloy wheels and a luxury interior as well, of course, as the elegant Aston Martin badge. The ‘Cygnet’ concept represents a creative, environmentally conscious solution, being small, yet with presence – and highly fuel efficient, now combined with the prestige of Aston Martin’s luxury brand ownership.
According to Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez, the car is specifically aimed at the one-third of existing Aston owners who own a Mini-sized car:
“This concept is akin to an exclusive tender for a luxury yacht,” Bez explains. “It allows us to apply Aston Martin design language, craftsmanship and brand values to a completely new segment of the market.”
If you have 4 minutes to spare, take a look at Brad’s video – it’ll give you an idea of how the Cygnet concept came about based on the Toyota iQ, plus it’s got a nice track on the background. Mesmerizing!
