Ginta Lapina: the Face of YSL Beauté

Ginta Lapina - the face of YSL Beauté Spring 2011

Angelic beauty with Latvian heritage, Ginta Lapina got my attention a year ago fronting YSL Rouge Pur ad campaign shot by the bad boy Terry Richardson. The Baltic stunner looked seductive yet innocent, provoking yet refined, and managed to get stuck in my mind as a fresher version of Natasha Poly (Go figure!) This year it came at no surprise to me that YSL continued working with Ginta by selecting her as a face of the Spring 2011 campaign.

‘After a rock and baroque themed winter, spring is back with a burst of seemingly innocent purity. Sensual full lips in bright pink or coral light up the face. A bold touch of eyeliner completes the look.” says Yves Saint Laurent’s newly appointed international make-up artist Lloyd Simmonds.

Ginta makes me proud to have come from Latvia and I cannot stop admiring her ability to translate a wide array of looks while remaining herself – just take a look at some of her recent runway appearances.
