Olga Sherer and Julia Saner jetset to the Swiss Alps in Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2011 film directed by William Snieg.
Louis Vuitton collection pays homage to the women of the past who embraced the modern era.
Women wearing men’s trousers behind the wheel of streamlined cars, a touch gamine in their tuxedos, or in a more luxe, F. Scott Fritzgerald style in flapper dresses glistening with sequins over Fortuny pleats.
There is nothing retro or literal about this modernist, glamorous look, however, and later it influenced a trend in the 70s. In fact, the style of the 20s and 30s still provides subliminal inspiration for fashion today, with a look that is elegant and precious yet also practical – a quality favored in the Art Deco era, when a woman, armed with her liberated wardrobe, could set out to conquer the world while enjoying the luxuries of her newly found freedom.
The most exciting thing for us in this collection are the evening bags that are just divine.
