Gucci Opens a Flagship Store in Sydney

Last night Gucci hosted a cocktail soirée to celebrate the opening of their two-level 700sqm flagship store on Castlereagh Street in Sydney.

In honour of the occasion, Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini designed a limited edition Sydney collection that will be sold exclusively in the Westfield flagship store.

Paying homage to the Australian flag and the Southern Cross, the collection includes a ladies boston bag, overnight duffle bag, ladies scarf, wrist wallet, and Australian animal key chains – all in the iconic Gucci GG print.

Sales of the limited edition collection will benefit the Australian Childhood Foundation which assists children suffering from abuse

But doesn’t stop here: next month Gucci plans to open another store at Sydney’s The Star casino complex, alongside luxury labels Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta and Chanel. “We believe Sydney is truly worthy of a flagship that is commensurate with its current standing in the region”  – says Helen Koo, Managing Director of Gucci Australia.
