In their latest Podcast inVogue, a series about how the 1990’s shaped fashion as we see it today, Vogue discusses the role of Karl Lagerfeld in his overhaul of fashion house Chanel.
In 1982, the brand enlisted Lagerfeld (who was working for Chloé and Fendi at the time) to give the company a much needed face-lift.
“A lot of people said that [Chanel] was a dead house,” remembers designer Eric Wright, Lagerfeld’s right hand for decades, as he shares in the Podcast “and I think he liked the challenge of showing people that they were wrong. That there was something there to be done.”
The feature includes guest interviews with Amanda Harlech, Anna Wintour, Kim Jenkins, Eric Wright, Tom Ford, and Claudia Schiffer.
